We work from an individualized and personalized teaching perspective, aiming to support each student in building their identity and academic journey, helping them reach their fullest potential.
We apply “maker” culture concepts that connect thinking with doing, encouraging students to develop projects by identifying and solving real-world problems. Competencies are built through experiences that foster reflection, analysis, and decision-making in creative and meaningful ways.
Constructivism has brought numerous contributions to contemporary education. Many of today’s most innovative practices stem from this approach, which places children at the center of the learning process as active participants. To achieve this, a variety of methods have been developed, especially project-based learning.
The guiding axes of our Elementary and Middle School curriculum focus on autonomy, citizenship, and skill development. Both the mandatory national curriculum (BNCC) and the complementary content developed by Escola Pedra da Gávea are approached through themed projects, created in collaboration with students and aligned with their developmental stages.
Additionally, our foundational pillars—Sustainability, Global Citizenship, Digital Culture, and Multiple Forms of Expression—complement the core curriculum and reflect the needs of today’s world. These concepts are integral to our Political-Pedagogical Project and highlight our commitment to a holistic education.
